Performance Counters not available after restart Take offline-Online
After stopping and starting the MSSQLSERVER service the Performance Counters are not available. After a reboot of the server they are there again. What is the proper way to shutdown the MSSQLSERVER process, starting it again and regaining access to the performance counters? The Unlodctr and lodctr sqlstr.ini trick seems not to work. A complete reboot of the server is needed.I've found that stopping and starting the MSSQL Service using the services mmc renders the performance log for SQLServer in accesible. However, stop and starting a SQLserver from the Enterprise Manger does not have that effect.
